Ron Fox, M.A., Ph.D., LMFT

My Masters (M.A.) is in Counseling Psychology (1984) and my Doctorate (Ph.D.) is in Clinical Psychology (1993), both from the California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco. CIIS is an internationally known fully accredited professional graduate school with an East-West approach to the study of psychology. I feel fortunate to have attended an institution with an approach to education and psychotherapy that is so in tune with my interests in humanistic, holistic, and transpersonal psychology.

The focus of my Master's degree was in marriage and family therapy, and my Doctoral degree specialization was in clinical psychology. In 1986, I was licensed as a California Marriage and Family Therapist (Lic. #LMFT 22194). I have also pursued specialized training in group psychotherapy, as a Certified Group Psychotherapist (CGP), and in clinical supervision, as a CAMFT Certified Supervisor.

In addition to my private practice, I have worked as a therapist and clinical supervisor in several SF Bay Area commmunity mental health agencies, and I have presented workshops and clinical trainings in the area of human sexuality for agencies and at professional conferences. I incorporate body-mind awareness into my work with clients, and I have developed and presented body-emotion-mind-spirit workshops for students, therapists, and other helping professionals. I am a also a certified Healing Tao meditation instructor and have taught meditation classes and workshops.

In addition, I am an Adjunct Professor in the MFT program at John F. Kennedy University and CSPP Alliant International University, and in the psychology department at Walden University. I have developed a range of traditional and online graduate level psychology courses. I have also taught in the psychology program at Webster University Leiden (the Netherlands).

I am a member (fellow) of the American Psychological Association (APA), a clinical member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (AAMFT) and the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT). I am also a member of the Therapists Association for Gender & Sexual Diversity (GAYLESTA), the American Group Psychotherapy Association (AGPA), and the Northern California Group Psychotherapy Society (NCGPS).
